Don't panic when receiving a bomb threat call. Use the following steps:
1. Listen closely to the voice. Try to determine:
- a. Sex
- b. Age
- c. Accents
- d. Lisps
2. Listen for background noise.
3. Immediately write as accurately as possible the caller's statements. Ask questions:
- a. What time will the bomb explode?
- b. Where is it?
- c. What does it look like?
- d. Why did you place the bomb?
4. Note the exact time of the call.
5. Notify immediately:
- a. Ext. 4499 Campus Emergency Number or

- b. Your supervisor and/or department head
6. If you should spot a suspicious object, package, etc., report it to campus
authorities, but under no circumstances should you touch it, or move it in any way.
7. Alarm Signals:
- a. Alpha Alert - One short tone - one short pause
- repeated continuously for one minute.
NO EVACUATION. (The area of the alarm is being investigated)
- b. Beta Alert - One long tone - one five second pause
- repeated continuously. (EVACUATION)
- c. All Clear - one short tone - one five second pause
- repeated for 30 seconds. Return to building.
