SHOP AT THE BOOKSTORE
The SCC
Bookstore is in the process of searching out new
suppliers for office supplies, and especially printer
toner cartridges. In this process each department will be
asked to provide a listing of the different printers that
are used so that a master list can be created. The goal
is to stock these ink/toner cartridges. By increasing the
volume of cartridges we purchase we can lower the prices
we need to charge. For toner/ink cartridges our new
pricing policy will be 10% above cost. In addition we are
participating in new buying programs that should lower
our costs.
The bookstore has
recently opened a wholesale account with Costco. In
addition we are working on setting up on-line ordering
for campus departments with one of our major suppliers.
There are many
excellent reasons to purchase office/general supplies
through the bookstore:
*New pricing & buying
procedures make the bookstore very competitive for most
items
*Increased volumes will contribute to lower prices for
everyone
*Bookstore can be very responsive to your requests to
carry specific items
*Bookstore purchases can be charged directly to your
budget and delivered right to your office
*In most instances, special orders can be
available in one to two days
*Keeping cars off the road is good for the environment
*More time in your office and less time shopping the
aisles

A SPECIAL SCREENING OF
FILMS
Wednesday,
April 9th at 6:45 pm in the Campus Theater
Join us for a screening of "Civilian
Casualties" a film by Frances Anderson. Some of the
film club members saw this powerful film at Slam Dance

Shoreline. The one-hour documentary presents the true
story of four Americans who lost loved ones in the
September 11th terrorist attacks, and who later travel to
Afghanistan to share their grief and offer their
condolences to Afghan victims of the U.S. bombing. Their
story is a profoundly moving search for reconciliation in
the midst of war.
We are also screening
Women In Film member Lois Shelton's film "After
Silence." This film explores the Japanese- American
internment through the eyes of Bainbridge Island resident
Frank Kitamoto, who was denied his rights and identity as
an American 60 years ago, along with other Japanese
Americans in the United States who were sent to
internment camps after the attack on Pearl Harbor. This
video prompts discussion on civil rights, citizenship,
discrimination, and the lessons of history during times
of crisis. The director Lois Shelton will be hold a Q and
A session after the screening of her film.
As an extra sneak preview
bonus, we will be showing a trailer for a
documentary-in-progress "Bhopal Legacy," thanks

A SPECIAL SCREENING OF
FILMS
Wednesday,
April 9th at 6:45 pm in the Campus Theater
Join us for a screening of "Civilian
Casualties" a film by Frances Anderson. Some of the
film club members saw this powerful film at Slam Dance
Festival in January and we have wanted to share it with
As an extra sneak preview
bonus, we will be showing a trailer for a
documentary-in-progress "Bhopal Legacy," thanks
to member Joy Shayne Laughter, who is the films
associate producer. Bhopal Legacy" documents
the devastating impact of the 1984 Union Carbide cyanide
gas leak that killed more than 20,000 people in Bhopal,
India.
